Kate Smith is a partner with Wood, Herron & Evans and counsels clients in the areas of domestic and international trademark, copyright, and internet law, including enforcement matters. Her experience extends to all aspects of trademark, copyright, and domain name prosecution, registration, and enforcement. Kate was named as one of the Ohio Super Lawyers – 2007-2008 Rising Stars by Law and Politics Media, and was selected for inclusion in the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL), Class IX (2005).

Kate was admitted to the Ohio bar and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio in 1996. Kate graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kenyon College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1996.

Kate is an active member of the International Trademark Association, as well as the Ohio and Cincinnati Bar Associations and the American and Cincinnati Intellectual Property Law Associations. Kate also serves on the Board of Directors of Children Inc., a children's care and advocacy organization in Northern Kentucky.
