WH&E Attorneys Contribute to InOneWeekend - 09/04/2009

Partners, Drew Blatt and Sarah Graber, participated in the InOneWeekend program held August 28-30, 2009, on the Campus of the University of Cincinnati.

InOneWeekend is an annual weekend event that brings one hundred marketing, design, technology, legal, and business minds together for three days, from Friday night to Sunday night to create a start-up venture from scratch.

Blatt and Graber provided legal guidance to the design, technical, and risk assessment teams regarding the ideas and creative works that could potentially be protected, and issues to be aware of to avoid conflicting with others intellectual property rights.

The start-up company created through this event, Dipidee, aims to expose the region's arts and entertainment venues to a new consumer base in an interesting and engaging fashion. Dipidee CEO Brian Lecount explains, "Dipidee provides last minute opportunities to people who are open to new and spontaneous experiences. And we'll entice them to take that new experience by offering them a great deal."

InOneWeekend is an innovation and entrepreneurship organization that (among other things) hosts open format, experiential weekend events that create viable participant-driven start-ups and that are launched in one weekend. InOneWeekend programs expose aspiring entrepreneurs to all the resources and individuals in the start-up community so that they can make connections before they begin their entrepreneurial journey. It is an experiential event they actually create a start-up so they are able to make these connections working side by side with designers, web developers, engineers, marketers, etc. InOneWeekend was founded to help entrepreneurs experience the startup life in one weekend. Now potential entrepreneurs can decide if the startup life is something they want to pursue further before making the leap.
