A recent webinar, given June 25, 2010 through ExecSense, about the most up-to-date issues involving Facebook and e-discovery was led by Greg Ahrens, a Partner at Wood, Herron & Evans LLP. "The Impact of Facebook on E-Discovery" webinar examined how the public's ever-growing use of Facebook (the very popular social networking web site which estimates that it has 400 million active users) affects e-discovery with respect to parties' litigation strategies and evidence preservation duties. This topic is important for getting a better understanding of key issues on the discoverability of Facebook evidence and your clients' legal obligations to retain and produce responsive Facebook data.

07/29/2010 - Steve Gillen serves as panelist and authors a special report for TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) (read article)
Attached is a copy of a report co-authored by Steve Gillen and released by TESOL yesterday as a follow-on to the panel discussion in which he participated at their annual conference in Boston last March. TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a professional association with about 55,000 members worldwide. TESOL has a subgroup of authors and publishers called the Materials Writers Interest Section, which sponsored the panel discussion and the report.

Six WH&E attorneys contributed significantly to the Cincinnati Bar Association's IP Law Program on 6/3/2010 entitled Intellectual Property - The Landscape Is Changing. On the Topic: "Advising Clients Regarding Domain Names and Dispute Resolution", Lori Kraft and Kate Smith served as Panelists and the session was moderated by Tom Flynn. Lori Kraft and Kate Smith provided helpful insights during this panel discussion regarding domain names, and advising clients about acquiring domain names and resolving disputes that arise.

05/20/2010 - Eleven WH&E attorneys are named Leading Lawyers (read article)
Kurt Grossman, Kevin Rooney, Dave Brinkman, Dave Jefferies, Dwight Poffenberger, Randy Jackson, Steve Gillen, Karen Gaunt, Lori Krafte, Glenn Bellamy and Ken Germain were all selected 2010 Cincy Leading Lawyers. Grossman, Rooney, Poffenberger, and Bellamy were recognized in the Patent specialty area; Brinkman, Krafte and Germain were awarded recognition in the Trademark area; Jefferies and Jackson received their awards in the Biotech area; Gaunt for Copyrights; and Gillen in the area of Communications and Media law. Hundreds of members of the local legal community sent in ballot forms.
