Harry J. Guttman, Ph.D. joins WH&E - 09/24/2007
Dr. Harry J. Guttman has joined WH&E as an associate. He is in the firm's Chemical/Materials Sciences and Biotech Practice Groups with more than seven years of patent law experience. Harry works in patent application preparation and prosecution, ex parte and inter partes reexamination, reissue, opinion writing, due diligence, client counseling, and litigation. His representative technical areas include: cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, immunochemical test strips, microbes, optical fibers, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, semi-conductor chemical processing, polymer chemistry, biochemistry, fusion proteins, and immunology.
Previously, Harry served as a patent examiner at the USPTO in the Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry Technical Center, where he examined applications from a wide variety of subject areas. Prior to that, Harry garnered over ten years of scientific research experience that was primarily focused on applying physical chemical concepts to understanding molecular processes in biological systems.
Harry has lectured on the U.S. PTO rules package on claim examination and continuation applications and he is the recipient of the ABA/BNA award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law.
