Harry Guttman Gives Presentation on the New U.S. PTO Rules to the Dayton IP Law Association - 10/24/2007

Harry J. Guttman, an associate in the Chemical and Biotech practice groups, recently gave a seminar to the Dayton Intellectual Property Law Association on the substantive and procedural changes resulting from the new U.S. PTO rules published August 21, 2007. This seminar reviewed many of these changes including (1) the new limitations on the number of claims the U.S. PTO will examine without burdensome and estopping documentation, (2) the new limitations to continuation practice including the crucial new definition of a divisional application, (3) the new applicant duties under new Rule 78, (4) the new limitations on RCE practice, and (5) the PTO transition practice for the above four subject areas.
